ToggleFC Barcelona turns to other avenues to strengthen its offensive sector
FC Barcelona has decided to no longer pursue the trail leading to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. After being announced as a potential recruit since the end of last season, the Catalans now believe that the signing of Haaland is not immediately feasible.
Haaland and Barça, an opportunity postponed?
Instead of focusing their efforts on acquiring the talented Scandinavian striker, Barça will turn to a renowned player in 2025 and are also considering extending Robert Lewandowski’s contract by two years, until 2027. The Polish player has moreover warned his management that he would not accept a simple one-year extension.
For his part, Haaland is in advanced talks with Manchester City over a new contract, ending all speculation regarding his departure next year. In addition, the Norwegian striker was reinforced by Pep Guardiola’s extension at the Etihad Stadium.
